ProVia Entry Doors Ensure Quality, Performance for Model Remodel
Entry doors are often the first touchpoint for visitors and can make or break the home’s overall appearance.
Though it’s not nearly the largest element on the exterior, an entry door is one of the most important. As the first touchpoint for visitors, entry doors can make or break the home’s overall appearance.
The team at Dreamstyle knows this well, and took great care in selecting the entry door for the 2020 Model Remodel. To update the look of the home, Dreamstyle is replacing the existing front door with a Signet smooth fiberglass door from ProVia, a door manufacturer the remodeler has been installing since 2012. The smooth door is a more contemporary take on the Signet model’s traditional wood-grain look, ideal for maintaining the Mossman-built home’s modern style leanings.
“The reason we chose the Signet model entry door was the superior quality of the fiberglass-constructed door enhanced by hardwood stiles and rails, establishing optimal strength and security with classic elegance and style,” says Joyce Hitchner, co-founder and secretary/treasurer for Dreamstyle. “We like that the door is virtually maintenance free, its 10-year finish warranty, and its high Energy Star rating.”
The 460 model door features a large single clear glass panel, aged-bronze hardware, and a Sandstone finish inside and out, which together create a neutral look suitable for the home’s roots and region.
Beyond its sleek appearance, the fiberglass door is dent resistant and warm to the touch compared to a steel-made door. Focused intently on quality, ProVia is unique in that it uses wide, robust, solid hardwood internal stiles and rails, rather than MDF or a softer wood, and dovetail joints. Other high-performance features include computer-driven foam fill to ensure maximum efficiency and strength, a composite bottom rail for rot resistance, and plugless window trim.
“We put a lifetime warranty on our doors,” says Joe Klink, director of corporate relations for ProVia. “In order to stand behind that, we build quality into our doors so they stand up against warping, cracking, and delaminating.”
ProVia doors are made to order, which helps further drive a quality installation by ensuring a better fit, particularly for remodeling projects where houses have shifted and settled over time. “Since our manufacturing processes cater to custom doors, we build each door to fit the house versus needing to modify the house to fit the door,” notes Kim Mast, director of sales-West for ProVia.
Dreamstyle also is installing a matching ProVia DuraGuard storm door. These screen doors also stand out for quality: rather than a typical fabric screen, they feature a heavy-duty stainless steel screen that is screwed into the door, helping to protect against tear-out by pets and small children.
